Gloa Terms of Use

Effective date: September 30, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and TANG TSZ CHUN ("I", "me"), the independent developer of Gloa ("the app"). By installing or using Gloa you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the country you live in. Where these terms conflict with those laws, the laws win.

1. What you get

I give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Gloa on Android devices you own or control, for your own personal or commercial photography. The app itself, including its code, colour grade, textures, name and logo, stays mine. You are licensed to use it, not sold it.

2. Free features

Without paying, you can:

I may change what the free version includes in future updates. Changes will not take away anything you have already bought.

3. Gloa Pro

Gloa Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It unlocks:

Payment. Purchases are made and processed through Google Play under Google Play's terms. The price is shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency, including any taxes Google Play applies.

Your Google account. Pro is tied to the Google account you bought it with. On any Android device signed in to that account you can unlock it again with Restore purchase, at no extra cost. It cannot be transferred to another Google account.

How long it lasts. You can keep using Pro for as long as Gloa is available and runs on your device. I cannot promise the app will run on every future version of Android or every device, or that it will stay on Google Play forever. If I ever stop distributing Gloa, you can keep using the copy already installed on your device for as long as it keeps working.

Refunds. Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy (https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637), including Google's own refund window after purchase. If something has gone wrong with your purchase, email me as well and I will look at it.

4. Your photos

Your photos are yours. Gloa processes them on your device and never uploads them, and I claim no rights over anything you take or import. You are responsible for having the right to use the photos you import and for how you use the results.

Gloa keeps private copies of your recent originals so that you can re-edit them. These copies are removed automatically once they exceed about 1 GB, and when you clear the app's storage or uninstall it. Finished photos saved to your gallery are not affected. Gloa is not a backup service: keep your own backups of photos that matter to you. See the Privacy Policy for details.

5. What you may not do

You may not:

6. Updates

I may release updates that fix problems, change features or change how the app looks. I am not obliged to release updates or to support particular devices. Some updates may be needed to keep using the app or Pro.

7. The look and trademarks

Gloa's look is inspired by the general character of tungsten-balanced night film. Gloa is not affiliated with, endorsed by or licensed by any film manufacturer, and any film names you may see mentioned elsewhere belong to their owners.

8. No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, I make no warranty that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or suitable for a particular purpose, or that a given photo will turn out the way you expect. Camera behaviour varies between phone models, and some devices may not support every feature.

9. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, I am not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of photos or data, arising from your use of the app. My total liability to you for any claim about the app is limited to the amount you paid for Gloa Pro, or USD 10 if you did not buy it. This does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

10. Ending these terms

You can stop using Gloa at any time by uninstalling it. If you seriously break these terms, for example by distributing a cracked copy, your licence ends. Sections 4, 5, 8, 9 and 11 continue to apply after the licence ends.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.

12. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms, for example when features change. The effective date at the top will change, and significant changes will be highlighted in the app or on the store listing. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. Changes will not reduce what you have already bought.
